Carols on Newstalk
Report by Nicolas, Ross and Oscar
On 17th December, 6 boys and Ms. Bleahene were invited to sing on Newstalk Radio on The Pat Kenny Show. They joined Noel Smith, who is the patron of the 3Ts charity on the show. They sang a selection of Christmas songs, ending with “Baby Jesus Sleeps”. After the show, four extra boys came from the class as well as members of the 3Ts charity to sing on Grafton Street outside Brown Thomas. They sang some carols, which included: Miracle Child, Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and many more! This was done to raise money for the charity, which deals with suicide awareness and prevention. Passers-by really enjoyed the show and a lot of money was raised for the charity. The boys of St. Joseph’s were very pleased to be a part of this worthwhile cause.

School Football League
Our school football league for 3rd to 5th classes was a huge success again this year. This is aimed at the boys who may not have the opportunity to play for the school teams. Eventhough the emphasis is on participation it was very competitive and we had a great day of finals. A special thanks to all the teachers who brought the boys to the VEC grounds each of the afternoons and to Mr. Concannon for organising the event. Well done also to the referees from 6th classes for their work.
