Congratulations to Finn and Dillon on being awarded gold medals for their fantastic work during maths week in October. The medals were awarded by Mangahigh. Adrian attained the highest score in the school on Duolingo (Irish) and he was awarded a special t-shirt for his achievement.
Another successful cake sale with a huge array of beautiful cakes. The boys returned to class full of sugar and with full tummies. Many thanks to all the parents for their support by offering cakes and to the Parent Association for their hard work in organising and working all day at the event.
Santa also made a surprise visit.
The student council accepted a very special Trócaire award today on behalf of the whole school. Over the past 23 years our school community has donated an incredible €71,000 to Trócaire.
This money has benefited the lives of millions of people in over 20 countries worldwide. Trócaire presented this award to only 30 schools in Ireland in recognition of their outstanding support for their work.
Ms. Josephine Crowley received a special thanks for her tireless assistance in collecting Trócaire boxes and money over the years.
This is the annual Hour of Code week and we are busy coding with all classes. Coding is very popular with the boys and we it is made even more attractive now with the integration of Star Wars, Minecraft, Flappy Birds and Moana. Hour of Code week is supported by many of the world’s celebrities in sport and IT. We will be following this up with some Scratch coding.
Well done to St. Joseph’s past pupil Niyi Adeolokun who won his first cap for Ireland v Canada.
