We received our Active School Flag today – the boys in Ms. Tynan’s class were delighted that all their hard work, with the Active School team and all our pupils in our other classes had been recognised.
All the hard work put in by our ASF committee paid off! A big thank you to all our boys for their enthusiasm, our staff for their commitment, our families for their patience and support, and our wonderful teacher Ms Fiona Tynan who coordinated the whole project. Super job by all.

Today we submitted our Active School Flag application.
Have a look through our Powerpoint which summarises all our efforts to be happy and active!
We are really looking forward to getting back to our local sports’ clubs. The boys in 5th and 6th class did a survey for the Active School team. As you can see, we have very active boys!
For the past 2-3 weeks as restrictions have lessened, we are delighted to be getting back in partnership with our local clubs.
Thank you Kevin, our local GAA Templeogue Synge St football club coach who trains all of our infants in ball skills one day a week.
Thank you Tommy from our local GAA hurling club Faughs who teaches hurling to our 1st and 2nd class boys for 2 days every week.
Thank you Fintan from Cricket Leinster who trains our boys in 5th and 6th class mid week.
And finally, we are delighted to welcome Gareth back next week, to teach tag rugby to our 3rd and 4th class boys. Gareth is the community rugby officer for DCC South Central.
We are very grateful to our local clubs for being in partnership with us in St. Joseph’s BNS.
We are also looking forward to getting back to our swimming lessons in Templeogue Swimming Pool, but we will have to wait until the public health guidelines let us know it is safe to do so.
Well done to all our classes who during National Active Schools Week (from infants to sixth class) ran everyday and visited all the places mapped out for this challenge! We are so proud of our boys. We want to thank Ms Tynan and the Active School Team for the motivation to keep going! Certificates and homework vouchers were presented to all.
