Artwork reflecting what we learned in January and February 2022

January and February can be wet dreary cold months but despite the storms and wet windy weather, we had a great half-term in St. Joseph’s. The art work by the boys demonstrates some of the themes and topics we covered such as the seasons with Winter about to end and Spring coming soon. The signs of nature awakening with bare trees sprouting buds, and early Spring flowers beginning to appear alongside swans nesting were demonstrated by the boys through their art work. Themes of Space and our Solar system and planets were also explored which led to construction with recycled materials. Art work using fabric and fibre was to be found everywhere. The Minions and Spider man featured a lot. Special days and celebrations like St. Valentine’s day where we showed love to one another and brought clay pieces and crafty gifts home to our loved ones, and the Chinese New Year where 2022 is the year of the Tiger were celebrated and explored through the joy of arts and crafts.
