Celebrating 150 Years

We had a very enjoyable evening with some of our past pupils, parents and teachers on Thursday, March 23rd in the Parish Hall. Some of our former pupils had a chance to renew old acquaintances and reminisce on their primary school days in St. Joseph’s

Today we had a dress up day to finish off our week of celebrations. We had some very sad and cross looking faces as we went back to the ‘good old’ school days.

Balloon Release POP !!!

Our balloon release turned into a balloon POP which was much more fun – all of Terenure could hear our celebrations!

We were delighted to welcome Danny Reilly back to St. Joseph’s to perform for the boys on this week of celebration. Danny delighted the boys with his songs and answered questions on a wide variety of topics. Many thanks to Danny for entertaining us today.

Minister of Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, spoke at St. Joseph’s today in commemoration of our 150th anniversary and unveiled a commemorative stone.

Ms Anne McCabe, principal of St. Joseph’s BNS, welcomed the minister and other distinguished guests including former deputy mayor of Dublin Edie Wynne, former principal of St. Joseph’s Mr. Matt Hume, chairperson of the board of management Fr. Philip Bradley, Kate O’Connell TD, Councillor Anne Feeney, members of the St. Joseph’s Parent Association and the management board.
