Get Active Week: St Joseph’s are running a Get Active and Healthy Programme for 8 school days beginning with the Community Walk in the VEC grounds on the 17th April.
This will be followed by a rugby blitz on Tuesday 19th April for our senior pupils, with other schools in the area and our visiting students from Barcelona. Wednesday the 20th April is when the whole school engages in as much physical activity as possible and every day from then on until April 29th will be bursting with fun activities for the pupils to raise their heart rates, and awareness of the importance of keeping fit and healthy.
The pupils are delighted to learn that tracksuits will replace uniforms for the 8 fun filled days. Activities will include: creating our own Joey’s Active Flag which will grow as we add more and more events, creating our own games and demonstrating them to other classes, taster sessions from local sports’ clubs, skipathons, yoga sessions, running laps daily, early morning exercises, lunchtime games, walk to school competition, reaction games, flash mob, limbo and plank challenges, and much much more!
There will a focus on healthy eating which will involve cookery demonstrations, healthy eating talks for pupils and parents and a scrumptious superfood lunch box competition.
Can’t wait to get moving!!!
