Yesterday, we had the first ever indoors athletics Primary schools’ event. St Joseph’s were represented by boys from 5th and 6th class who all performed very well. Medallists were Luke-bronze in the 600m, Alex-silver in the shot and gold for our excellent relay team (Aaron, Liam, Tom and Dillon). Photos Video Lucan cross country photos Hurling Photos
Well done to the many boys who took part with their clubs in the Dublin Indoors Athletics championships at the weekend. Top man was Gareth who won gold in the 600m while Dara and Alex also collected medals. Click here for a few action shots. There are some schools’ cross country and other athletics events coming up in the next few months so get training!! Cross country photos. Cross country video Schools Indoors Video Photos

Our first run of the school year, the Clonliffe Harriers Schools XC took place at the beautiful Santry Demense. No medals on this occasion but the boys represented St. Joseph’s very well indeed with Gareth taking an outstanding 6th place(out of 200 runners!) in the 5th class race running against boys up to two years older than him. Well done everyone! Photos.

Inspired by Dublin´s thrilling All-Ireland victory (Sorry Mr. C) our school senior teams got our Cumannna mBunscol leagues off to a good start with two fine wins over Bishop Galvin today.

We are continuing a long tradition in St. Joseph´s by running a 3rd and 4th class football league in the first term. It started today and will continue for the next four Wednesdays, weather permitting. Some present football Dublin superstars (Eoghan O´Gara and Denis Bastick) played their first football matches in this league many years ago. Thanks to Mr. Concannon for organising, the other teachers who helped supervise and the 6th class boys who are refereeing. Click below to see more photos.
