Athletics: Cross Country

Our first run of the season in magnificent weather in the beautiful Santry Demense Park. The Joeys boys aquitted themselves well with Gareth coming home ahead of 250 boys from dozens of schools(including some Belfast schools)in the fifth class race. We also picked up third place in the team event. There are several more events to come through the winter and every boy from 3rd to 6th will get a chance to run for the school so get fit!

Cumann na mBunscol schools football

Our Cumann na mBunscol school football season is getting under way and we have entered two junior teams and two senior teams. They will be in action every week until Halloween with training on Mondays and matches on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

We are also continuing a long tradition in St. Joseph´s by running a 3rd and 4th class football league in the first term. It started this week and will continue for the next four Wednesdays(VEC Grounds 1430 to 1545), weather permitting. Some Dublin football superstars (Eoghan O´Gara and Denis Bastick) played their first football matches in this league many years ago. Thanks to Mr. Concannon for organising the league, the other teachers who helped supervise and the 6th class boys who are refereeing. Click below to see more photos.
