The senior hurling team showed skill and determination today to defeat Bishop Galvin in the Shield Final in Croke Park. The boys led throughout the game. The scores were close at half time but St. Joseph’s opened the second half with a goal and from that time on forged ahead to win comfortably in the end. The team, captained by Tom McV. and managed by Mr. O’Riain and Mr. Reale, scored three goals which were to prove vital.
It is always a great honour to play in Croke Park and to come home with a win is even better. It will the be last chance for the 6th class boys to represent the school but the boys in 5th class will have another opportunity to play there again next year.
