New Admission Policy for St Joseph’s BNS

Important: 

New requirements apply to the enrolment of pupils for the 2021/2022 and subsequent school years.

Applications for Junior Infants 2021 need to be submitted within the dates listed below. If an application was already sent in, you will need to resubmit a new application during the timeframe below.

Our application form for Junior Infants September 2021 will be available from the 2nd of October, 2020.

 PART 1 – Admissions to the 2021/2022 school year

 

Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2021/2022 school year:

The following are the dates applicable for admission to Junior Infants

 

The school will commence accepting applications for admission on

 

 October

5th, 2020
The school shall cease accepting applications for admission on

 

 November

13th, 2020
The date by which applicants will be notified of the decision on their application is

 

 November

30th, 2020
The period within which applicants must confirm acceptance of an offer of admission is December

7th, 2020

 

*Failure to accept an offer within the prescribed period above may result in the offer being withdrawn

Note: the school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

 

Number of places being made available in 2021/2022

 

The number of places being made available in junior infants is 54

 

St Joseph’s BNS had made one offer of school placement for September 2021 which had been accepted prior to the commencement of Section 62 of the Education (Admission to Schools) 2018 on 1 February 2020. The number of those places offered and accepted for junior infants 2021 is:  1

Admission Policy – Announcement

With the commencement of further sections of the Education (Admission to Schools) Act 2018  – new Admission to school requirements apply to the enrolment of pupils for the 2021/2022 and subsequent school years. The school will publish its new Admission Policy approved by the Patron and its Annual Admission Notice on the 21st September, 2020.   This notice will state when the school will commence accepting applications and cease accepting applications.  The notice will also give the date by which applicants will be notified of the decision  and the period in which they must confirm acceptance of admission.   Our application form for Junior Infants September 2021 will be available on our website from the 2nd of October, 2020.
