What a hectic week!! It started on Monday with our trip to Croke Pk. Our senior team were up against an excellent St. Attracta’s team(including our captain Darragh’s two first cousins!). With the lead changing hands on several occasions it made for a very exciting match but as we entered the last minute we trailed by three points. Up popped Conor to save the day with a late goal so we are the joint winners of Corn Clanna Gael! Our own Mr. Hallinan presented the cup to Darragh. Short match report. Photos here and here.

Our junior team(5th and 4th class) fixtures had fallen behind due to so much bad weather so on Tues we had to play v Bishop Galvin on another rainy day but we came out on top. That left us with the last league match v Pius yesterday to maintain our unbeaten record and clinch the league title. It was a tough battle in Terenure College but Joeys boys stuck to their task against a strong Pius team and came out on top on a scoreline of 3-4 to 0-3. Go Games Div One South champions for 2023 sounds good. Well done everyone!!

Today we had Halloween Friday with the traditional dressing up day. Several Harry Potters, Joe Biden, Donald Trumps, Minions, Spongbobs, Spidermen, Supermen, Dinosaurs, Sumo wrestlers, Ghosts and Ghouls were all spotted in the school yard at 8.30am!

Today was also Bean Uí Loinsigh’s last day in the school after 41 years. She received greetings and well wishes from many of her former pupils-some now well into their 30s and 40s!! The Garda Band arrived to provide some party music for the whole school with hits such as Shotgun, Ghostbusters and Dance Monkey. The music finished with a beautiful rendition of Rose of Tralee from Bean Ui Loingsigh herself. An unforgettable occasion- click here for photos.
