Our infants experienced all things musical today – they performed, played percussion, danced, and got creative with the classics!
Over a hundred boys from the school wowed a huge audience last night at Córfhéile in the National Basketball Arena. Ms. Maher, Ms. Tynan and Ms. Rooney were delighted with the beautiful performances of their classes. Our special thanks to Ms. Maher who is one of the main organisers of the event which goes on all week with hundreds of schools involved. Click for more photos. Judge’s report.
Well done to all the boys, led by Ms. Maher and Ms. O’Riordan, who performed so well at Córfhéile in Tallaght last Thursday.
Last week we celebrated ‘All things musical’.
All of the boys had extra music classes during the week. Team teaching with the aid of Ms. Harte, Ms. Maher, Ms. Murphy and Ms O’ Donoghue enabled the boys to have plenty of fun with dance, listening and responding, composing, playing melodies with accompaniments and drumming.
We were also fortunate in securing a booking with the renowned string quartet ‘Graffiti Classics’ and the boys of Senior Infants, First, Third and Sixth learned a lot about classical music in a dynamic and highly entertaining way. Here we can see Ms. Murphy’s class enjoying musical storytime and Ms. Maher’s on percussion.
Our thanks to to the Garda Band who visited the school on Friday and provided us with some great pre-Halloween entertainment.
Congratulations to the boys from St. Joseph’s and the girls from Sandford NS on being confirmed in St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday, March 16th.
