Our Green Team consists of two representatives from each 1st to 6th class. They meet regularly to discuss various green issues which may arise either within their classes or in the wider school community.
During one of their meetings, it was noted that the level of signage around our school, alerting drivers that they were driving in an area where pupils were walking, cycling or scooting to school was non-existent.
The Green Team linked up with the ‘Safe routes to School’ programme, to prepare a Walkability audit to assess how safe it is for our boys to walk, cycle or scoot to school. Together with our Parent Association and Board of Management, the Green Team will use this audit to ask the Dublin City Council for proper signage for our school.
Being Green is our aim, but our boys must also be safe whilst being green too.
