Despite the blustery weather, we had a great day of cross country running in Santry for the Clonliffe Harriers Brother Schools races.
It was a big challenge in muddy conditions and around 150 boys ran in each race, some from schools as far away as Belfast. Even our own Mr. Brennan showed up with his new school from Co. Meath!
Our 4th class boys, most running in their first ever race, made a good recovery after a slow start. Ben was our leading finisher, followed by Finn and Jason, all in the top 30.
5th class boys from Mr. O’Flynn’s class showed that those laps of the school yard do get you fit as we finished 3rd in the team event with 4 boys in the top 16. Ronan and Tom led us home followed by John and Alasdhair.
6th class boys took top honours with the team gold medals – a first for St. Joseph’s. Sam comfortably won the race and Seán and Conn also finished in the top 10. Conan’s 13th spot clinched us 1st place with an amazing 31 points.
Well done everyone!!
