Jim O’Connor, “The Owl Man”, resident falconer at the Irish National Heritage Park came to our school to visit all of the classes.
He brought some of his best behaved owls and birds of prey with him. We met a Barn Owl, Harris Hawk, Falcon, Eagle Owl to name but a few. Such serene and majestic birds.
Every class got to see, touch and hold some of these majestic birds. Jim enthralled the classes with stories about the beautiful birds and about how they live, what they eat and where they come from.
Every boy (and staff member) who wanted, got to hold and stroke an owl – what an incredible experience!
